Since the beginning in 2007, Adventure Teaching has been the program that puts teachers first.
We’re passionate about people living and working abroad – we genuinely believe it is one of the best things a person can do! Living abroad adds invaluable elements to our personal stories; it changes us and enlarges our world view, teaching us in ways that nothing else will. But it’s hard to know where to start when looking for work in other countries… can we get an amen?!
And that’s where we come in. You can think of AT as your partner as you set your sights on finding work abroad. Everyone on the AT team has lived and taught abroad and we use our industry experience to help you navigate the overseas job market, offering the most extensive upon-arrival support in the industry. We provide our teachers with an honest, upfront, “no-bull” perspective, and work tirelessly to prepare our teachers to live and work abroad for a year. Put simply: we are aware of and interested in each teacher’s unique needs and desires because we were all teachers once, too.
Here’s what you can expect from us.
We want to get to know you.
We will take time to hear your story and understand your goals for teaching abroad.
We want to find you a good fit.
We are committed to the hard work of connecting you with the school that is right for you.
We’re always here for you.
After you arrive, we are only a quick email away. We love hearing from you!
How we do things differently
Our method for placing teachers with schools
We tend to do things a bit differently than other recruiting agencies. We take the time to filter job opportunities that fit your preferences so that you’re not just getting thrown random interviews and random contracts. We’ll do the heavy lifting so that when a school does extend you an interview offer, you can confidently move forward knowing we’ve fully screened the school specifically for you.
Our strong relationships with schools
We make a regular habit of visiting our schools for two important reasons. First, we are continually building relationships with directors so that we have a clear understanding of what type of teacher fits best at their school. Second, we are committed to maintaining an up-to-date understanding of what the school is actually like for foreign teachers. Teaching environment, curriculum, and faculty need to be a good fit!
Our tailored recruitment service
Whether you are a teacher looking for a job overseas or a school looking to hire, our small, efficient team can be flexible and adaptable to your needs. AT is like a big family – we look forward to connecting you with other AT teachers in your area, and we get especially excited about hosting AT Teacher events in-country.
