Top 6 Places For Cherry Blossoms In Seoul
It’s springtime in Korea, which means some very welcome warmer weather. It also means cherry blossom season! We at Adventure Teaching have scoured the city to bring you the best spots to gush at the beautiful cherry blossoms in Seoul. Cherry blossom season may be coming to an end, but you can still get your Instagram on (minus the crowds) at these top spots!
1. Yeouido Cherry Blossoms
There’s nothing quite like 1,500+ trees blossoming all in one place at the same time. This is exactly what you’ll find at the Yeouido Park during its annual Yeouido Spring Flower Festival. Never-ending rows of trees lining the Han River will make you completely forget just how long you’ve walked. Especially since you’ll be mesmerized by street performers and fuelled by the countless street food vendors along the way.

2. Seoul National Cemetery Event with Weeping Cherry Blossoms
Although not the most appropriate place for a picnic, the cherry blossoms at Seoul National Cemetery droop downwards like a weeping willow. It’s a cascading waterfall of vibrantly pink flowers. It is said that the cherry blossoms are paying their respects to the lost lives buried here. The event features several activities, including a Changing of the Guard, military band, photo exhibition and even a cherry blossom photo contest open to the public.

3. Seoul Children’s Grand Park
The cherry blossoms at the Grand Park are often considered the most impressively vivid of the area. The park also provides a great place for relaxed picnics on open grassy fields. The massive park is a great place to wander about, and you’re sure to find just the right tree to get some amazing pictures. Food vendors, a cafeteria, a modern art museum and a botanical garden are all on hand to keep you busy all day long.

4. Seokchon Lake Cherry Blossom Festival
A lake surrounded by budding cherry blossoms reflected in its water with a fantasy-like amusement park and castle right in the center? Yes, please! Paired with its annual cherry blossom festival and located next to the Lotte Mall, Seokchon Lake lays out a whole day’s worth of spring and fun all in one spot.

5. Seoul Forest
Imagine sitting on a picnic blanket with your friends or significant other as the sunshine keeps you warm and cherry blossom petals gently flutter around you. It might sound like a dream, but that’s what you’ll get at Seoul Forest. Pair it with deer feeding and a butterfly garden, and you’re looking at a pretty fantastic afternoon date or family outing.

6. Changgyeonggung Palace
Saving the best for last! Cherry blossoms raining in front of an ancient Korean palace make for the most quintessential, dramatic Korean spring photo. Although the ever famous Gyeongbokgung is always a tourist favourite, the true star in spring is the lesser known Changgyeonggung. The Japanese colonialists planted sakura trees all around the palace complex. Now it enjoys the highest concentration of cherry blossoms of any palace in Seoul. The smaller crowds are also a massive bonus when it comes to capturing the perfect picture.
